In 2011, after years of substance use and the consequences that followed, including prisons, hospitals, and institutions, Jeff reached a place where the pain of staying the same became greater than the fear of change. He entered Damascus Road Recovery as a resident, surrendered his life to God, and committed himself to a new way of living and serving others.

Today, Jeff serves as Executive Director of Damascus Road Recovery, the same program that helped change the course of his own life. He is also Missions & Outreach Director at Solid Rock, Director of Willing Helpers Food Ministry, a licensed pastor, and a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC-I).

Jeff believes deeply in sacrificial service, listening to voices that too often go unheard, and creating pathways to hope and recovery. His lived experience, leadership, and heart for service make him an invaluable part of Heart of Newton.

Above all, Jeff is a devoted husband, father, and friend who considers his family, faith, recovery, and opportunity to serve others among his greatest blessings.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Our House of Restoration, Kimberly has dedicated herself to providing safe, supportive transitional housing and helping men and women build strong foundations for their futures.

Kimberly also serves as the Treatment Provider for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Adult Accountability Courts, working alongside the justice system to help individuals address substance misuse, build stability, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Throughout her career, Kimberly has developed a deep understanding of the challenges associated with substance misuse and believes strongly in the power of compassion, accountability, connection, and second chances. She believes substance misuse does not define a person and that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, rebuild, and discover a life filled with hope and purpose.

Her commitment to serving others extends beyond her professional work. Kimberly is a member of Faith Tabernacle in Conyers and values her faith, family, and community. Above all, she is a devoted wife and loving mother who strives to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose.

Kimberly’s 30+ years in recovery, professional experience, servant leadership, and genuine heart for people make her an invaluable part of Heart of Newton.

As a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES), Certified Peer Specialist – Addictive Disease (CPS-AD), Certified Peer Specialist – Mental Health (CPS-MH), and Forensic Peer Mentor (FPM), Tabbetha brings both professional training and the powerful perspective of lived experience to her work.

Her experience includes peer recovery support, community outreach, recovery programming, collaboration with community partners, and supporting individuals navigating treatment, accountability courts, reentry, and other systems. She is especially passionate about reducing stigma and helping people recognize their strengths, rebuild connections, and discover new possibilities for their lives.

Tabbetha approaches her work with authenticity, compassion, and a strong belief in meeting people where they are while encouraging them toward where they want to be.

Her lived experience, peer leadership, and commitment to strengthening recovery communities make her an invaluable part of Heart of Newton.

Her own lived experience shapes the way she shows up for others: with patience instead of judgment, honesty instead of easy answers, and a deep belief that people are capable of far more than their hardest days suggest. Kimberly understands that recovery isn’t always simple or linear, and she believes in meeting people exactly where they are.

Kimberly is a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) and Certified Peer Specialist – Addictive Disease (CPS-AD), using both her lived experience and training to help create spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to keep going, and reminded that they are never alone.

Her commitment to growth extends into her education and career as well. Kimberly graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and is currently continuing her education to earn her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and become a Registered Nurse.

After an impressive 37-year career as a private investigator, Shannon retired in 2022 and shifted her focus toward family, faith, and serving her community.

From 2021 to 2026, Shannon served as the Al-Anon family group leader for Damascus Road Recovery, a men’s recovery residence in Covington. Through this role, she walked alongside families affected by a loved one’s substance use, helping them find support, connection, and hope for their own healing.

Shannon joined Heart of Newton because she is deeply passionate about recovery and ensuring that individuals and families have access to the support they need. She believes in helping people find a path forward from the effects of substance use and understands the importance of supporting the family throughout that journey.

Outside of her service work, Shannon enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, horseback riding, reading, and volunteering through her church and other ministry efforts.

Her life experience, commitment to families, and genuine desire to serve others make Shannon an invaluable part of Heart of Newton.
