Heart of Newton community

About Heart of Newton

Recovery is personal. Community makes it possible.

We are a peer-led home for connection, choice, healing, and hope.

What is an RCO?

A recovery community organization is built by the recovery community, for the recovery community.

An RCO is an independent, nonprofit organization led and governed by people with lived and living experience of recovery, along with families and allies. It is not a treatment provider. It is a community anchor that helps people build the relationships, resources, purpose, and practical support that sustain recovery over time.

At Heart of Newton, peer support is mutual, voluntary, strengths-based, and grounded in respect. People define recovery for themselves. We welcome people using mutual aid, medication, faith, harm reduction, clinical care, wellness practices, cultural traditions, or any combination that helps them move toward the life they want.

01

Our Mission

To ensure that hope exists and recovery thrives through connection, multiple pathways, education, and advocacy.

02

Our Vision

A community where recovery flows freely and every person has the chance to heal and thrive.

Why the heart?

The name was chosen with purpose.

Just as the heart pumps life-giving blood to every part of the body, recovery and connection move hope, healing, and strength through individuals, families, and communities.

Recovery cannot exist in isolation. It needs encouragement, community, and pathways that stay open. Heart of Newton exists to be that vital connection point, bringing people, resources, and hope together so recovery stays alive and strong.
